How EFT Can Give You Confidence – The Domino Effect
(Add or view comments at the bottom of the page.)
Whether you are already familiar with EFT or if it is new to you, you may well wonder what it has to do with dominoes for improving confidence. Perhaps you are already a successful EFTer and can connect the dominoes to the generalization effect. Maybe you have just started doing EFT and are overwhelmed with all the things you think need to be tapped on for you to be confident and calm. Or perhaps EFT is totally new to you and you are reading this article looking for a new way to open the door to a confident new you.
Read on, and all will be revealed.
Let us say that lack of confidence is made up of an energy disruption that takes up unwanted space in your mind-body. Imagine your mind-body as a house. This house is made up of many rooms. If you invite an experienced EFT Practitioner into this house, they will look at the house, think about it for a few seconds or minutes, and then using their skills and experience head for say, three of those rooms. They may try the door to the first room. They enter that room and it has one shelf standing on one wall over there. The shelf has a few dominoes on it, so few, you have to look really hard or stand on a chair to see them. So the EFT Practitioner shuts the door to that room to see what the other two rooms have. The next door may open to a room so full of stuff, you would really rather keep that door closed for now. And the third room may be different. It has neat shelving all along its walls. And on each shelf, there are dominoes standing next to each other. This feels like the right room to start with.
Now imagine that each of these dominoes represents the energy disruption left by one negative life event. This could be a teacher making a sarcastic remark, a parent being less than complimentary, a friend being mean, a loved one being critical, or anything that can leave its mark on your confidence levels. But the event is no longer happening. Each domino is not the event but the energy disruption representing the event.
We can go to each shelf and one, by one, and laboriously take one domino out at a time. Or we can go to the biggest shelf and bring down the domino that collapses many dominoes in front of it. If you have seen a demonstration on TV, in person, or maybe on Youtube of cascading dominoes, you will know what I am trying to say.
Then we go to the nest biggest shelf and collapse the next domino that will bring down many dominoes in front of it. And then the next shelf, and so on, until all of the dominoes have been collapsed with relatively little effort.
With the dominoes collapsed, the room is now free of active dominoes that threaten to make you nervous in that room. They are all silenced and calm. And you feel confident and calm in that room.
One by one, we go through all the rooms that you want to clear. And with each clearing, you feel stronger and more confident. Isn't that amazing?!
EFT, which is short for Emotional Freedom Techniques, is otherwise affectionately known as Tapping. It has the power to step-by-step collapse all the dominoes standing in the way of our confidence, success, and self-esteem. This is regardless of whether the confidence is needed in your social, romantic, work, or leisure life. Dominoes down; confidence up. That is the link, and it really can be as easy as that.
